Subject: Media Release: Weekly Vaccine Update
To:

*Topeka Kan*. – The Shawnee County COVID-19 Response Team Phase 2 vaccine
distribution weekly update includes the number of vaccines delivered and
administered by the Shawnee County Vaccine Collaborative.

The vaccine collaborative, which includes Stormont Vail Health, The
University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus, GraceMed, VA Eastern
Kansas Health Care System and the Shawnee County Health Department (SCHD)
continues to meet their objectives and goals based on the vaccine doses
received.

SCHD anticipates that the weekly allocation of 3,510 prime doses are
expected to arrive on time this week, by Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

SCHD continues to receive the necessary boost dose shipments weekly.

Those who will be vaccinated this week by the Shawnee County Vaccine
Collaborative will be those individuals over the age of 65, homebound
individuals, childcare workers and mass transportation workers, as well as
any individuals from previous phases.

GraceMed plans to receive 300 doses each week from the Federal Government.

Approximately 700 doses of the vaccine are being distributed “directly”
from the Federal Government to local Shawnee County pharmacies who are
registered as a part of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.

SCHD is preparing to expand to high-contact workers included in phase 2B.
Individuals over the age of 65 will continue to be vaccinated, but we
encourage individuals in this age group to schedule their vaccination
appointments now.

The allocation of the doses distributed to the VA Eastern Kansas Health
Care System is 800 prime doses. As of March 5, 2021, there have been
approximately 5,354 Veterans that have been vaccinated.

As of March 2, 2021, there have been approximately 21,073 individuals, 65
and older, that have been vaccinated in Shawnee County.

As of March 5, 2021, there have been approximately 250 childcare workers
and mass transportation workers that have been vaccinated.

The Shawnee County Vaccine Collaborative is actively working with our
private sector partners to provide vaccines to those in Shawnee County who
are considered to be “homebound”. If you are homebound, or know of family
or friends that may be considered this, and would like to receive a vaccine
