*Topeka, Kan.* – An Emergency Order of Local Health Officer has been issued
for Topeka and Shawnee County, which will be effective beginning *Saturday,
March 6 at 12:01 a.m*. This public health order is being issued in
continuance of mitigating the impact of COVID-19 on the Shawnee County
community. This order will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. April 9, 2021
unless renewed, rescinded or superseded by a subsequent order.



Dr. Erin Locke, Shawnee County Health Officer, has adopted the following
changes to the local requirements which can be found on our Shawnee County

·         *Mass Gathering Limits*:

o   Mass gathering for small groups *increased to 25 individuals*

o   Mass gathering limits for indoor events have been * increased to 500
participants or 75% of total capacity *(whichever is smaller) after social
distancing and mass gathering rules are applied (i.e. groups of 25
separated by 6 feet)

o   Mass gathering limits for outdoor events have been *increased to
1000. *Social
distancing and mass gathering rules are applied (i.e. groups of 25
separated by 6 feet)

o   Organizations that are planning events that are expected to *exceed the
above gathering limits must submit a written plan for review* by the
COVID-19 Incident Response Team and the Shawnee County Health Officer.
Plans are to be sent to covid19info at snco.us

·         *Restaurants, Bars and Nightclubs:*

o   *No restrictions on operating hours*

·         *Personal Services*

o   Operations should follow KDHE guidance:
