*Here is some general guidance for when the cold & flu season interacts
with covid.*

*How do you know if your symptoms are from COVID, the FLU, or just
ALLERGIES?*

· Below, and attached, is a chart from KDHE that makes a
side-by-side comparison. While many of the symptoms between Covid, Flu,
Cold, and Allergies overlap, comparing the totality of your symptoms to the
chart might help.

o More details are available on the CDC webpage:
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/symptoms/flu-vs-covid19.htm

*What you should do if you think you have Covid symptoms:*

· *In an effort to lessen the chances of exposure to other
employees, City employees are instructed not to go to work in person if
they have Covid symptoms. *

o Employees who have the option to work remote may do so, as long as they
feel ok and their supervisor approves.

o If you have questions about your symptoms, you should seek advice from
a medical professional, or the Shawnee County Health Dept. (General
questions 785-251-4848.)

o If you do get tested for Covid, you will be required to quarantine
pending your results. Please notify HR (368-3867), and also make sure you
continue to report your absences to your supervisor or department the same
as you are required for any other absence.

· You can find additional information regarding City practices on
the Intranet:
