Save the date and your recyclables! The next recycling drive is Saturday,
April 1st (no fooling)! Even if you haven't saved recyclable metals in the
past for our neighborhood, it's never too late to get started!


To ease the work for our amazing volunteers we are asking that you separate
items by type:


   - Aluminum beverage cans

   - Steel cans (like cat food and tuna cans), aluminum foil, and pie pans

   - Other metals (like aluminum sheeting, storm doors, copper pipes, copper
fittings, bronze, etc)


We are unable to take appliances, hot water heaters, and other very
heavy items.  Please place sorted items on your porch by 9 am Saturday,
April 1st. If you have any questions about the College Hill Recycling Drive
or to volunteer for the recycling drives please contact Carol Christensen
at 785-554-8068.

Here we are again once again asking you to come adopt, adopt, adopt! If it
seems like we are constantly running out of kennel space ? that?s because
we are! We currently have 70 dogs and puppies available for adoption and 28
currently on stray hold!

We are waiving reclaim fees on pets if you come get your animal on its
stray hold ? we just really want these pets to go back to the homes who are
missing them!

Starting TODAY until further notice, we are running a ?Name Your Price? on
dog adoptions ? minimum $20 to adopt! This includes puppies, all breeds,
and any length of stay.

If you can?t adopt right now, you can donate to HHHS to help offset the
costs of the shelter by losing adoption fees. Getting animals into homes is
our utmost priority right now!

FutureNow: Finance is an interactive financial literacy simulation.
Students receive a profile detailing their life at age 26, including their
profession, salary, family status, and more. They use this information to
navigate through stations representing all the expenses they must account
for in a month, such as housing, transportation, child care, groceries,
etc. Volunteers are positioned at each station to help students determine
what they owe and help them with their budget. Students leave the event
with a better understanding of creating and balancing a budget.

The success and lasting impact of these events depend on volunteers like

This will be an event where customers can apply for KS LIEAP, visit with
financial assistance agencies, and learn more about additional resources
available to them in the Topeka area. They will have the opportunity to
visit with all of the organizations/agencies and be entered into a drawing
for prizes every hour (but only if they visit all of the tables).



Since the KS LIEAP program closes on March 31st, we want to make sure
customers have the chance to apply for any and all of the resources

The Payee Department performs several functions.

1)            Representative Payee for SSDI and/or SSI beneficiaries

2)            Assisting Payee and Finance Departments

?             Assist payee consumers towards independence in their monthly

?             Keep accurate payee records, payee check and copies of
receipts.

?             Assist Consumers as needed and on a daily basis.

?             Work directly with Consumers with Mental Health Diagnosis.

Happy almost springtime, Neighbors!
It's time again for our CHNA meeting and it's tomorrow! Please plan to
attend. If you are unable to attend, but have a questions or comments,
please share with your CHNA board members. We hope to see you tomorrow
night. Attached, please find the meeting agenda and treasurer's report -
and the minutes from the January meeting.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the CH Chili Cookoff in
February.  We had a marvelous turnout, and it was so nice to visit with
neighbors.

Have you seen the beautiful gazebo in Boswell Park? At this meeting, we
plan to discuss a gazebo grand opening party in the park.

Fourth of July is approaching - Let's talk about changing the parade route.
We have a serious issue with the fees to rent the barricades to run the
parade along College and Jewell. We're considering all ideas to save $$ on
barricade rental and we're seriously in need of volunteers to help on July
4. If you have any thoughts on this, or would be willing to help, please
let us know.

We're also looking for a few new officers for the CHNA Board. Term starts
in September. If you are interested in a position in serving the best
neighborhood in Topeka, let us know.

Save the date and your recyclables! The next recycling drive is Saturday,
April 1st (no fooling)! Even if you haven't saved recyclable metals in the
past for our neighborhood, it's never too late to get started!


To ease the work for our amazing volunteers we are asking that you separate
items by type:


   - Aluminum beverage cans

   - Steel cans (like cat food and tuna cans), aluminum foil, and pie pans

   - Other metals (like aluminum sheeting, storm doors, copper pipes, copper
fittings, bronze, etc)


We are unable to take appliances, hot water heaters, and other very
heavy items.  Please place sorted items on your porch by 9 am Saturday,
April 1st. If you have any questions about the College Hill Recycling Drive
or to volunteer for the recycling drives please contact Carol Christensen
at 785-554-8068.
