January 2023 Class of Board Leadership Training. As a part of the GROW
program, this training will provide community members opportunities to

The Kansas Homeowner Assistance Fund (KHAF)

funded, temporary emergency program to support homeowners experiencing
hardship during the Covid pandemic, has dispersed 80 percent of program
funds. Since the program launched in April 2022, KHAF has provided
*$37,460,240* to *3,377* households. *With 20 percent of funds still
available, homeowners in need of assistance are encouraged to apply now
while funding remains.*

?I was stressed and overwhelmed when I got behind on my mortgage payments,?
said one KHAF applicant. ?With so much going on in my life, I was hesitant
to get started applying for KHAF assistance. However, once I sat down and
focused, I learned that the application process was much easier than I
thought.  My advice to others is to apply now; don?t wait. You will be
surprised by the simple process; if you need help, you can always call a
KHAF customer service representative.?

KHAF was established with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to help
qualifying Kansas homeowners get current on their mortgage payments and
avoid foreclosure. Eligible homeowners at least 30 days past-due on
mortgage and/or property taxes can receive payment assistance for
mortgages, utility bills, property taxes, and other charges associated with
delinquency.

held the third Monday of every other month.  The next round table is to be

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr Day, the January round table will be held
the fourth Monday in January.

chili cookoff on Feb. 4. We're going to collect canned food and
nonperishables for Door Step at this event and need to discuss the
logistics of collecting cans and creating a contest to increase donations.

Subject: CHNA Meeting Monday January 23 at 7 p.m.



Hi everyone. It's time for another meeting of the College Hill Neighborhood
Association. We'll meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23 at Westminster
Presbyterian Church.

It's the return on the chili cookoff on Saturday, Feb. 4! We're so happy to
bring back this fun event and we need your help! We need volunteers to help
set up and clean up. We also need lots of chili! crackers, cheese, etc and
drinks. Please bring your items to the church on Saturday afternoon, Feb.
4. Or get them to a board member at your leisure. If you are able to help
on Feb. 4, or would like to donate something to the cause, please reply to
Christi on this email - to help the organizers keep track. It will be very
exciting to host one of our favorite events and we expect a large turnout.
We really need your help - so please consider bringing chili
and/or/donating drinks or chili toppings.

 At the event, we will also collect non-perishable food for Door Step. You
can bring your canned food to the chili cookoff on Feb. 4. This is a new
addition to the chili cookoff and is an excellent opportunity for College
Hill to give back to our community.

At our CHNA meeting, we will finalize the plans for the chili cookoff and
food drive. So stay tuned for the details......


We hope to see you Monday night. If you are unable to attend, but have a
question or comment, please let a board member know.

thousands who started KanCare during the pandemic, and many have not

SENT is hosting a training on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 8:30-4:00 called
Understanding and Helping Youth with Problematic Sexual Behavior.



This training is helpful for teachers, case workers, foster parents,

FutureNow: Finance is an interactive financial literacy simulation.
Students receive a profile detailing their life at age 26, including their
profession, salary, family status, and more. They use this information to
navigate through stations representing all the expenses they must account
for in a month, such as housing, transportation, child care, groceries,
etc. Volunteers are positioned at each station to help students determine
what they owe and help them with their budget. Students leave the event
with a better understanding of creating and balancing a budget. *All of the
materials are provided for you ? you just need to show up and interact with
the students.*

The success and lasting impact of these events depend on volunteers like
you. We hope you will join us for this incredible volunteer experience. If

College Hill's annual chili cook off is returning Saturday, Feb. 4! We're very excited to be able to host this event again. A special thank you to Westminster Presbyterian for welcoming this chili crowd again.
The chili cook off will take place from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4 at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 13th and Boswell. $5 per adult and $2.50 per child.
It's really cold this week and it's perfect weather for chili. Bring a crock pot of your special chili and enter it in the official contest. (traditional, non-traditional and vegetarian categories) Guests will decide the best in each category.
We're expecting a large crowd and could really use some help.Would you consider bringing a crock pot of chili??How about Chili toppings - cheese, sour cream, diced onions, jalapenos, crackers... OR drinks, desserts or cinnamon rolls???

experiencing hardship during the COVID pandemic, has disbursed nearly all
program funds and will close soon. The program has entered Final Funding
stage, the first of three closure phases. Homeowners in need of assistance
are encouraged to apply now, while funding is still available.*



?The economic impact of the pandemic continues to be felt by families and
communities across the state,? said Ryan Vincent, Executive Director of
Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC), which administers the KHAF
program. ?This assistance has provided housing stability and preserved the
dream of homeownership for more than 3000 Kansas families in need.?



KHAF was established with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to help
qualifying Kansas homeowners get current on their mortgage payments and
avoid foreclosure. Eligible homeowners at least 30 days past-due on
mortgage and/or property taxes can receive payment assistance for
mortgages, utility bills, property taxes, and other charges associated with
delinquency. Since the program launched in April 2022, KHAF has
provided *$40,531,802
*to *3,601* households.



*The closure process will follow three phases. Here?s what this means for
Kansas homeowners in need of assistance:*



*1. Final Funding Phase:* Homeowners seeking KHAF support should *apply*
