Just wanted to say thank you to everyone! But I will be leaving the CPO unit and moving on to Detectives come October 15th. OFC Bryan Stricklin will be returning to the CPO unit by the end of the month after coming back from Military leave. He will (should) be your CPO.

FutureNow: Finance is an interactive financial literacy simulation.
Students receive a profile detailing their life at age 26, including their
profession, salary, family status, and more. They use this information to
navigate through stations representing all the expenses they must account
for in a month, such as housing, transportation, child care, groceries,
etc. Volunteers are positioned at each station to help students determine
what they owe and help them with their budget. Students leave the event
with a better understanding of creating and balancing a budget.

The success and lasting impact of these events depend on volunteers like
you. We hope you will join us for this incredible volunteer experience.  If

*Topeka, Kan.* ? Beginning, October 15, 2022, from 7:00 am to 9:00 am Mars
Wrigley will be hosting their second pick-up event on the north side of
Gary Ormsby Drive. Mars Wrigley is Shawnee County?s first Adopt-A-Roadway
group participant. Mars Wrigley Topeka associates and immediate family
members (at least 13 years old) will be participating in this event.



?Mars Wrigley associates are excited about this program and hopefully we
can get more organizations to follow in Shawnee County?s Adopt-A-Roadway
program,? said Mike Heatwole, Supply Excellence Manager, Mars Wrigley.



?Shawnee County appreciates all the volunteers? efforts who assist in the
pickup events along the Shawnee County roadways,? said Curt Niehaus,
Director of Shawnee County Public Works.

?We hope more civic-minded businesses in Shawnee County take the
opportunity to adopt a roadway.?



The Shawnee County Adopt-A-Roadway program is designed to allow groups or
businesses with an interest in keeping our roadways litter-free a chance to
perform valuable service to their community.

Shawnee County Public Works provides trash bags and an ANSI Class II safety
vest and Shawnee County Solid Waste will pick up the filled trash bags for
each pickup event.



Motorists should be on the lookout for the groups as they clean the
roadsides.

am*, we have* no waiting line*.  The ?sweet spot? to get in and out quickly

Greetings Community Partners,



Our local partner Mars Wrigley has donated plastic recyclable ?Trick or
Treat? bags (see picture below) via their ?Trick or Trash? program for
distribution in the Topeka community.



The City of Topeka Division of Community Engagement will be distributing
the bags the week of October 24th. In an effort to be fair and equitable we
will be distributing a maximum of *50* *bags *per agency/organization
on a ?*first
come, first serve*? basis. Please note that the bags will have be picked up
at City Hall, 215 SE 7th Street, 1st floor.

at Topeka High School, THANK YOU!  I encourage you to share with any of
your coworkers, friends and community partners.

If you haven?t had the chance to sign up yet, please take a look at the

more students completing this event this year than we?ve ever had before,
which in turn requires more volunteers than we?ve ever needed.

FutureNow: Finance is an interactive financial literacy simulation.
Students receive a profile detailing their life at age 26, including their
profession, salary, family status, and more. They use this information to
navigate through stations representing all the expenses they must account
for in a month, such as housing, transportation, child care, groceries,
etc. Volunteers are positioned at each station to help students determine
what they owe and help them with their budget. Students leave the event
with a better understanding of creating and balancing a budget.

The success and lasting impact of these events depend on volunteers like
you. We hope you will join us for this incredible volunteer experience.  If
