As you are meeting with the community please let them know we have two
career paths at Washburn Tech East that still have slots available for the
Fall semester.

Both Programs lead into high-demand positions that pay a living wage.



*Industrial Production Technology**(only available in the morning)*

*Average wage: $19.46 per Hour*

*Cost: (Thanks to scholarships from MARS and the Kansas Promise
Scholarship) less than $400 for high school and around $700 for adults.*

Prepare for a job on the manufacturing floor that is in high-demand and
offers a great starting wage! Industrial production technicians train to
become an important part of the highly innovative manufacturing field. This
program also provides a strong foundation for students wanting to pursue a
career in other fields such as engineering. At Washburn Tech, you will get
an introduction to reading measurements, troubleshooting, working with PLCs
and logistics.



*Plumbing Technology **(Available both morning and afternoon)*

*Average Salary: $51,070 per year*

*Cost: $1,347 for High School (Other scholarships available to help offset
cost) and  potentially Free for adults (through the Kansas Promise
Scholarship)*

Washburn Tech’s Plumbing Technology program introduces students to the
knowledge and skills required for entry into the residential plumbing
industry. You will learn how to read site plans and install various pipes,
pipe-fittings, fixtures and valves. Instruction also covers water
distribution systems and key aspects of waste removal systems. Codes and
regulations pertaining to the plumbing industry are key topics, as well.
The program concludes with an internship, providing each student with hands
on experience under the guidance of professionals in the field. Attending
half-day, you can complete this 30-credit hour program in two semesters.
