Also, please take this time to ensure the safety of your own family and
home by checking your smoke detectors.

Did you know that, in partnership with the American Red Cross, The Topeka
Fire Department will install smoke detectors in your home for free? To sign
up, check out https://www.topeka.org/tfd/smoke-alarm-program/ and complete
the online form.  If you prefer, you may call TFD at 785-368-4000 and
someone will assist in completing the form.

The program is free. Someone from TFD will call to set up an appointment,
about three days in advance, to install the alarms and provide
other fire prevention information. Because of the recent surge in COVID,
there may be a longer waiting period.
