The holiday season is upon us. Consider giving the gift of empowerment by
donating items from our attached wish list for the annual YWCA Center for
Safety and Empowerment "Hope for the Holidays" program to support survivors
of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and stalking and
their families this holiday season.

Gift cards and items can be dropped off to our main location at 225 SW 12th
Street Topeka, KS 66612
<https://www.google.com/maps/search/225+SW+12th+Street+Topeka,+KS+66612?entry=gmail&source=g>
between the hours of 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. To allow
clients time to shop for their families, a deadline for donations is set
for Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at 5:30 PM to be distributed December
6-10th, 2021. However, gift cards for “Hope for the Holidays” will be
accepted until Monday, December 20th, 2021 at 4:30 PM.

Last year, YWCA was able to serve 238 individuals (160 adults and 78
children) through the generosity of the Holiday Store. In the words of a
survivor, “I had to leave everything behind (clothing, toys, mementos) to
flee an unsafe situation. [Hope for the Holidays] allows for me to provide
my kids with a happy holiday, even though things are uncertain right now.”
While the current COVID-19 pandemic has continued to impact the service
delivery of YWCA annual holiday giving, YWCA is still on a mission to make
this season a little brighter for those who are impacted by domestic
violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and stalking.
