*Topeka, Kan.* – Following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s
(CDC) Advisory Committee for Immunization Practice (ACIP) vote on November
2, 2021 to recommend the Pediatric Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for emergency
use authorization the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE)
authorized all COVID-19 vaccine providers in Kansas to begin administering
vaccine starting November 3, 2021 to children ages 5 to 11 following
guidance received from the CDC.



Starting today, Thursday November 4, 2021 the Shawnee County Health
Department (SCHD) will begin offering the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric
vaccine, in addition to other vaccines, at their Clinical Services
Division, located at 2115 SW 10

by appointment only. Individuals can call 785.251.5700 to schedule an
appointment for the following hours:



*Monday, Thursday, Friday
Tuesday                                               Wednesday*

1:00pm - 4:00pm                                              3:00pm -
6:00pm                              2:00pm - 4:00pm



The SCHD continues to strongly encourage residents to protect themselves by
getting a COVID-19 vaccine. Additional opportunities to receive a COVID-19
vaccine continue to exist in our community and can be found easily through
the CDC’s Vaccine tool <https://www.vaccines.gov/>.



Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and everyone entering the
building over the age of 2 is required to wear a mask. If accommodations
are needed due to a medical condition please call 785.251.5700.
