*Topeka, Kan.* – An Emergency Order of Local Health Officer has been issued
for Topeka and Shawnee County, which will be effective beginning *Friday,
February 12 at 12:01 a.m*. This public health order is being issued in
continuance of mitigating the impact of COVID-19 on the Shawnee County
community. This order will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. March 12, 2021
unless renewed, rescinded or superseded by a subsequent order.



Dr. Erin Locke, Shawnee County Health Officer, has adopted the following
changes to the local requirements which can be found on our Shawnee County

·         *Mass Gathering Limits*:

o   Mass gathering limits for events have been *increased to 300
participants or 50% of total capacity *(whichever is smaller)

o   Organizations that are planning events that are expected to *exceed 300
participants must submit a written plan for review* by the COVID-19
Incident Response Team and the Shawnee County Health Officer. Plans are to
be sent to covid19info at snco.us

·         *Restaurants, Bars and Nightclubs:*

o   *Increasing *hours of operations to 12:00AM

o   Consumption of food and beverages at *counters is permitted;* with
appropriate social distancing (6 feet) and barriers between seats

o   *Karaoke is permitted* and included with other live performances that
are allowed
