*Topeka, Kan.* – The Shawnee County Health Department is currently awaiting
updated guidance and recommendations from Kansas Department of Health and
Environment (KDHE) regarding the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC) most recent updates to the Isolation and Quarantine period

At this time Isolation and Quarantine periods have *NOT *changed in Shawnee
County.



If you test positive for COVID-19 (Isolation):

·         Everyone, regardless of vaccination status *must*:

o   Stay home (isolate) for a minimum of 10 days

§  Released from isolation after fever-free for 72 hours without use of
fever reducing medications



If you are exposed to someone with COVID-19 (Quarantine):

·         Non-Household Contacts:

o   Quarantine for 10 days (no test)

*OR*

o   Quarantine7 days (with negative PCR test on or after Day 6)

o   Quarantine periods begin after last known exposure to positive case

·         Household Contacts:

o   Quarantine for 10 days (no test)

*OR*

o   Quarantine7 days (with negative PCR test on or after Day 6)

o   Quarantine periods begin after positive case in the household is
removed from isolation period.



Individuals who are fully vaccinated and/or have had a positive infection
within 6 months are not required to quarantine.
