Good morning everyone.



I am thrilled to announce that the Shawnee County Solid Waste Department
will now be collecting electronics and up to five tires per household for
recycling from Shawnee County residents, at the Shawnee County Household
Hazardous Waste Facility, 131 NE 46

Street.  The Shawnee County Household Hazardous Waste Facility is open
Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. and also the first Saturday of each
month from 9 a.m. – noon (except for January and July).



They cannot yet accept CRT’s which are the old-fashioned televisions that
are not considered flat screen, and the computer monitors that are not
considered flat screen.

Those can be accepted at a later date for a nominal fee.



In addition, there will be an electronic recycling collection on October
26th from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Kansas Expocentre.  For a complete list of
things accepted and NOT accepted, please see the attached flyer.
