The annual College Hill Chili Feed is quickly approaching! Here are a few reminders for our biggest fundraising event.

Date February 10, 2018
Time 5 PM - 7 PM
Cost $5 for adults and $2.50 for kiddos

*Please note a change in venue. 

Please spread the word!  The chili feed is a great time to catch up with your neighbors but also remember to invite your family and friends. This event is a great time to show our community what living in College Hill is all about - historic and fun events, community involvement, great neighbors and chili!

More Chili! We?re hoping to have more space this year, so extra chili entries are welcome. What a great time to show off your culinary skills and enter the contest. Here are the categories:
Traditional
Non-Traditional
Vegetarian (we could always use more vegetarian entries!)
Please bring chili to Westminster by 4:00pm.

Additional Donations Needed We really need drinks like lemonade/water/milk, yummy toppings for the chili like cheese, onions or sour cream - and don't forget the jalapenos, corn bread, and cinnamon rolls! Bring desserts or sides by 4:30 pm, drinks by 3:30 (or bring it cold).  

Event Volunteers Needed! We need wonderful volunteers the day of the event helping with setup of tables and chairs, kitchen helpers during and cleanup after. College Hill events are made possible by our amazing volunteers. Join the team!

*Free Flu Vaccine Still Available at Health Department*



Due to the continued flu activity in our community the Shawnee County
Health Department (SCHD) is still offering FREE flu vaccine to anyone six
months and older while supplies last.



This year?s vaccination protects against 4 strains of seasonal flu.
According to the CDC, when H3 viruses are predominant, in this case H3N2,
we tend to have a worse flu season with more hospitalizations and more
deaths. While surveillance systems show that the flu season may be peaking
now, we know from past experience that it will take many more weeks for flu
activity to truly slow down. The CDC continues to recommend that
individuals still get the flu vaccine; they are the best way to prevent
getting sick from the flu and it is not too late to get one.



Anyone can visit our immunization clinic at 2115 SW 10th Ave during regular
clinic hours (see below) to receive their flu shot, no appointment is
needed.

For more information about getting a flu shot from SCHD call 251-5605.

Monday, Thursday, Friday
8:00 am - 11:00 am
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Tuesday
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Additionally SCHD encourages residents to take the following steps to help
minimize the spread of germs:
